About the Council

The Recycling Reform Act Advisory Council (RCW 70A.208.050) provides guidance to the Washington State Department of Ecology (Ecology) and the Producer Responsibility Organization (PRO) on the implementation of the Recycling Reform Act. The advisory council will be consulted on statewide lists development, needs assessments, and performance targets. The council will also review PRO draft plans, amendments, and annual reports.

Council members represent diverse perspectives from across the recycling system. We meet regularly to review progress, discuss challenges and develop recommendations for improving Washington’s recycling infrastructure and programs.

This yet-to-be-formed, six-member subcommittee makes recommendations to the advisory council, Ecology, and the PRO on equity and environmental justice considerations related to the implementation of the Recycling Reform Act.
